Coffee in the Current Era
Brazil is a centerpiece of the global coffee trade. In our current era—the Anthropocene—it is becoming increasingly important to reevaluate past and current practices, to ensure a more sustainable future.
Our Thesis
We contend that understanding the relationship between the Anthropocene and Brazil’s coffee trade requires an interdisciplinary approach spanning the three Liberal Arts disciplines. This comprehensive perspective is essential for analyzing the past, present, and potential future impacts, which will worsen without targeted interventions and the implementation of specific policy measures.
